DiDomenico Update
May 9th, 2009 by Steve
Thanks to the Saint John Telegraph Journal, here’s a brief update on DiDomenico’s injury situation:
“…he was treated for a broken left femur and kneecap. Debbie DiDomenico said Thursday evening that her son had an operation to insert a pin and four screws into his leg, and that his dosage of pain medication was being gradually reduced.”
“Debbie DiDomenico said the Toronto Maple Leafs, who signed Chris to a three-year NHL contract earlier this season, have been “deeply involved” in dealing with his injury. She said the NHL team was happy with the surgery and that her son will likely go through his rehabilitation, which could last several months, with Maple Leafs staff.”
“Voltigeurs assistant manager Andre Ruel, a veteran coach and executive in the league, said it was the worst injury he’s seen on the ice since a player had his neck sliced open by a skate in Chicoutimi about 10 years ago.”
Here’s a brief clip on YouTube of the injury for those of you that haven’t seen it yet. It isn’t particularly “graphic” but if you’re prone to squeamishness you might not want to watch.
